"I'm more about mind over muscle. My mindset needs to be the fittest, because it drags my body through whatever needs to be done. A lot of people neglect training their mind and their self-belief, but I believe that's crucial." - Ant Middleton
Traits, looks, characteristics are all things we inherit from the day we are born from our parents, family and years of genetics. We are brought into this world moulded by those around us and what we are exposed to especially at a young age when our brains are like a sponge. Through years of developing we become the person we are today, everything we know, how we act and how we see the world has been created by our life experience. There will not be a day that goes by where you don't have a conversation with yourself in your head, spending the majority of the day on my own I know that I will sit and go through ideas weighing up the pros and cons, setting plans for the rest of the day etc etc. We spend so much time within our own minds but do we fully understand our mindset and how it can be gratefully impacted by those around us and our upbringing.
What can be seen as arrogant is a "Can Do" attitude, for example I will never focus on the negatives of starting something new or let them take over a creative idea or something I wish to pursue. This negative mindset is something a lot of people around me have, its always "What If...?" My reply is "Who gives a fuck, you won't know until you act on the idea, if it goes tits up then so be it at least a failure is a lesson in disguise" & from this we grow, we develop as human beings, our mindset develops we as people know that there is more to our being then hopelessly wondering through life aimlessly with no goals or plans or a mindset to challenge yourself or try something new. I have not always had this "Can Do" attitude and like most people they can relate, growing up I was bullied because of my weight, I had zero confidence when it came to expressing myself or talking in front of others, as I refer in my Bio it was being threatened to be kicked out of school that switched my mindset up. Going to the gym, studying & respecting others around me especially those that wanted nothing but the best for me allowed the real me to come out of the shell. I think life gives you the opportunity to develop your mindset and activate it in a way that will only benefit you in the long run, however people around you and your upbringing can prevent you from this self development. The pressure from those around you to be someone your not...I hope if you are reading this and you feel that is you then please take a step back, have a think if this is what you want to be in 10 years time, take this time now to reconsider the people you call friends and even family members. Like I said the "Can Do" attitude can be seen as arrogant however there is nothing arrogant about self development and making a better you for tomorrow.
Mindset is something we all have and just like our bodies we need to nourish it, feed it, teach it and allow it to truly be performing at its optimum. Yes there will be days where it works better than others however if you start now you'll be one step ahead of the game.
